Annaprashan, also known as the Rice-Feeding Ceremony, is a sacred Hindu ritual performed when a baby begins eating solid food for the first time apart from mother’s milk. Traditionally, the ceremony includes offering the baby their first taste of rice or Kheer along with Vedic rituals and blessings.
The ceremony is generally performed around the 6th or 7th month, although the auspicious date and time may be determined according to the baby’s birth details and Nakshatra.
